search + engine = new marketing fallacy

One of the downside of SEO (search engine optimization) is making your Google search misleading.

From Print Ad to TV ad, online advertising is now the IT of marketing strategy. So most businesses, take advantage of the internet, as the new media for their persuasive campaign. Since Google is one of the leading search engines in the world wide web, e-marketers (ab)use it where they can lure potential visitors and customers. Come to think about it, it's a war of advertising out there for major brands to make their product visible to every internet user. They use any keyword and tags possible that will link their product so it will gain more hits and higher ranking through out the internet.

And guess what? It's frustrating! Cause every time I search for something, let say I'm searching for tips on how to create fashion belt out from recycled plastic, The first page is bombarded with plastic belts either from famous and "trying to be" famous brands, worse it's also showing plastic items that are completely not fashion belts (e.g. plastic cell phone cases, plastic chairs and whatsoever that is made out of plastic!) so you need to scroll down and click the forward icon making your search a pain in the ass. Aggressive organizations are bombarding the internet with all those crappy articles and tagging their own website to whatever famous websites. This ultimately defeating the purpose of a "search" engine.

I hate the idea that Google is now leaning towards the idea of making money rather than providing fair information.
