Oakwood Hotel, Ortigas

it's the 3rd hotel rycky, joey and i had the privilege to experience in our weekly hotel hopping escapade here in Manila.

one couldn't miss this golden warrior statue at the left side of the hotel lobby. it uses a special kind of translucent marble as background against subtle lighting that casts a glowing effect

it's very much accessible to the main establishment around Ortigas business district. notable buildings are SM megamall, the Podium, Metrowalk and El Pueblo to name a few.

i've noticed that their interiors are more of oriental minimalist meets European grandiosity.

here's one of the hotel's representative introducing this whooping 16k a night suite to Rycky

when the time i got my own house (finally and hopefully) arrived, i like my bathroom to be as huge as my master's bedroom then have this kind of amenities: huge tub, surround sound system and state of the art shower room that could turn into a sauna.

we stayed here for two nights. the living area is huge enough to invite friends over and they got a highly equipped kitchen so cooking is such a convenience.

i guess this room was delighted to have us as it was filled with hearty bond among us. we really had fun and surely had a memorable stay.

honestly, i never knew about this brand as they don't have any boutique in Cebu (as of the time i'm writing this). my colleagues and I usually pass by inside Shangrila Plaza going to work and i just keep wondering what they showcase. At the back of my head, it might be like Mango, Topshop or Linea Italia. Until its near payday when i scout around for new pair of shoes (as most of them are retiring lol) so I went inside and look around their men's collection. And damn, they are on SALE up to 70% off. So without second question asked, i have to say hello to my new babies.

i fell in love with these matte silver sneakers as they could get along with my all black/white ensemble or just jeans con t-shirt days

the price:
originally cost Php2900
but the money i've shelled out

man, i said to myself: it's way better buying a pair of Vans or Converse sneakers as i've got it for a lesser price

Sporting my first oxford shoes. It's weird cause i'm not used wearing sharp pointed shoes as I have this mental vision of my self that looks like an elf. but i get affirmation from the web and it's totally looks fine. so being one of snow white's elf was completely erased.

the price:
originally cost Php5900
but the money i've shelled out

my picks are genuinely made in Spain and one thing that makes them valuable is that its hand made. so quality and durability are not compromised. the original price speaks its worth, however thrifty shopper like me should take advantage with their discounts and could simply say:

Hey i got this shoes not because they are branded, but it's because it is affordable and they catch my breath away.

ana lang, angal ka?
haha =)

Otaku Festival 2010

these pictures were taken inside SM megamall where i'm trying to get my way through the crowd. these guys are flashing their attire for the annual anime convention. well, i got no time for chit chatting, neither any plan of befriending them as I'm about to go to G-Hotel at that moment, so i got these stolen shots.

manila de bay

after 3 years, i've revisited manila de bay. to make sure i won't get lost, grabbed this map from a bookstore. spent the night at G-Hotel with rycky and joey

it's easier to go there through the connecting mrt/lrt stations.
this is along one of the stations in LRT (can't remember if this is pedro gil or .. really can't specify). Compared to other stations, this one looks old and spacious.
I love it's archaic structure although its been built just recently.

afternoon scene along Roxas blvd facing the renowned manila bay.
i wonder how many Filipino films have been shot on this place
this area can be seen from the balcony above the hotel as its primarily located
in front of the shoreline.

having tea, G-Hotel
it was declared as a lazy weekend.

G Hotel by Waterfront is located at: 2090 Roxas Boulevard, Manila 1000
