taiwan = formosa p2

Hush
taiwanese icon, a message:
"Embrace ur enemies, embrace ur family, embrace ur lover..
 Embrace urself"

I met Ming at the final hours of my stay in taiwan. It's amusing how we use google translate to communicate. imagine, we type in our message, have it translated and then flash our phone's screen to express our feelings. We met at the 4th exit of ximen station. The moment i saw him, i am struck with his facial feature, I find him cute and adorable. He accompanies me going to ximendeng and walked side by side and with thousands of people, i could only sense im with him.

I asked him to be my boyfriend for the night. And he flashes this 20k carat smile 😁. Just like arturo's. When i grabbed him by the sidewalk for a kiss, it was such a marvelous bliss.

I am in love.

I tried to expand every minute as if its a

If only i can spend my entire night and days with him 🥺

I was happy and sad at the same time. But we have to part ways. I gave him my beep card as a souvenir and as a pact that one day we will meet again.

sometime on my 1st day:

While making pila for food in the morning,  a chinese guy who work in canada approached me..  I can sense his eyes turning into pair of hearts and his nicotine stained teeth flashing in its full glory, And then he mentioned something like, other than the pride, im here for "meaning".

like, ok..

sometime in the middle of the night:

Just woke up frm a dream
Im on my 2nd day in taiwan
But i dreamed i am in japan for 2nd time?
A lady gave me cold drinks---because i am very special 😁
She made this ceremonial dance wherein she draw a straw on-air and then she tap tap on the forehead
Looking right
And then tap tap looking left
And then tap-tap to the cheeks to cool down
Tap tap on the lips
And the lips were given with a very good pout 💋

Standing by a stream while watching sunset.. A stream where "seas of music" flows into. So even seeing a single ripple, you can hear the faintest music..

Our tourguide from KLOOK! She is like a mother hen, will always look for her lost chicks. I know she keeps being patient but the way she reprimand the late comers was so civil and very professional.

She's also very sensitive on sensing someones needs even if you dont ask for it. let's say for example:

This picture was taken when i was so drawn to the yellow sea.. In fact she saw me that i was all alone so she was so eager to take picture of me.

aww.. im so touched, I almost cried. Just kidding!? 😅

Common cr - no need for local bathhouse
intriguingly, one of my most memorable place

as i pee one of those wee hours in the night
there's this cute hunky bi spectacled guy, (cannot tell if he is from HK or from MY, he doesn't look like taiwanese) he happened to be my roommate
I already keeping an eye on him
inside our all-male quarter
everytime i pass by his cot,
i could have a glimpse of his youthful flawless (yet moreno for an asian) skin
he's only wearing a brief.. my fantasies have been quenched when

our eyes fixed and then we look down at eachother's cock
he has nice armpits and uncut dick
he smelled of dried orange peel
we kissed and we suck each others cock
then we get inside an empty cubicle
Mutual jo and he suck me till i cum
---one of the perks checking in a hostel

****

and then one day inside the hostel's cr, i saw a naked hot guy in the shower,
we were both horny
i followed him to a different cubicle and was amazed he got huge dick for an asian,
(i guess he is japanese by his looks)
with piercing.. Bareback fuck until he came

I had a crazy stay, and able to save a lot of NTD for the accommodation and skipping the local bathhouse.

Museum Visit

Given with enough time and energy, I could have visited the National or Metropolitan museum but visiting nearby galleries such as Galerie Joaquin | Modern and Contemporary Art in UP Town Center was not a disappointment at all.

Was able to witness two exhibitions from two artists that I am not completely aware of. I guess one of the challenges in Art Criticism is to provide formal analysis first as concrete as possible, before reading into the artist's statement.

Even from afar, the works of Aldrino Abes really catches my attention as familiar figures were reproduced in a large scale replica, but the moment you get nearer, the details will astound you as instead of the accurate imitation of stroke of a certain classical painting, it was rendered on a "pixelated" version.

Johannes Vermeer's "The Girl With a Pearl Earring" and "The Milkmaid" are one of the chosen subjects that Aldrino Abes chosen to be rendered on how he see these masterpieces. His version of these portraits were as if being zoomed in and due to limited resolution, one can see a pixelated image.  The results blurr the images in a cubist approach but as a human eye is trained to make sense of the image as a whole together with the viewers familiarity of the classical artwork, then somehow our mind will do the trick of mixing both images (the one we have remembered and the one we are currently seeing) together.

They said "Imitation" is the highest form of compliment. Well, for me, this kind of version has completely impressed me as it somehow give us a new light of how we see classical artwork in the most latest composition.

"The Girl With a Pearl Earring"
Artist: Aldrino Abes
Medium: acrylic on canvas
Dimension: 48 x 36 in

"The Milkmaid"
Artist: Aldrino Abes
Medium: acrylic on canvas
Dimension: 48 x 36 in

Aldrino Abes exhibit was entitled Disassembled Assembly which only ran from August 16 to 25 of which was preceded by another exhibiting artist, Raul Isidro with his exhibit entitled: Colorati which has been extended until further notice (Supposedly only up until September 4, 2019)

Most of his work on this collection were medium scale, ranging from 2 x 2 feet to 2 x 3 feet in sizes. His medium is mostly acrylic on canvas. At first glance his works remind me of the "Color Field" art movement of which dominated by the works of Mark Rothko and Ronie Landfield, with the similar lush paint strokes but with cut out figure on a plane colored background.

The juxtaposition of these painted blocks make you think of cut out papers pasted on a cardboard. The result is like a collage of painted blocks with some color gradient strokes here and there. There are times, the solid blocks are either splashed with heavy colored stokes to scratched layers revealing the initial colors underneath.

 "Formation"
Artist: Raul Isidro
Medium: acrylic on canvas
Dimension: 20 x 16 in

"Midsummer Landscape"
Artist: Raul Isidro
Medium: acrylic on canvas
Dimension: 24 x 24 in

His works somehow mystified me as I cannot fathom what is he trying to portray until I was able to check on the titles and artist's introduction for this collection. It was mentioned that he spent some time in the western part of Samar, specifically Calbayog which was donned with melancholic landscape and beautiful sunset. So I imagine painting a landscape and then cut it out to pieces and have it pasted randomly and then framed it---very tricky and such a marvelous technique.

"ocean eyes"

was playing billie eilish in my head while swimming earlier. athletes swam me by as im imagining them as dolphins, seals and baby whales.

billie's songs make me sad. except her come out and play track.

usually, once im sad, i usually go to beach and swim and have all those salty tears mingle with the sea. then i immerse myself and scream on top my lungs under water. soaking myself in. until those waves of comfort calms me down.

it's been a while since i cried. it's been a while since my eyes became an ocean of emotion. i kinda miss it that i wanna fake it. one can't be constantly happy, you know?

eigasai is coming, up until now i havent watched poolside man. instead, was watching stranger things 3 and there was a pool scene where there are hot mamas swimming in their 80's inspired make-up.

i tried to focus on my breathing and strokes. I noticed the water is unusually clean on a friday. and i like how they keep it warm at night.

then i closed my eyes and billie eilish is still on my mind, crying black ink.

Lightroom

I'm so old school that i usually get pointers from magazine and, ugh, old books..

I am aware that there are certain "social media" influencers that can really teach you a thing or two, its just that delving into their noisy world means you have to dig deeper and determine who you can relate with.

So one time, i came across a tutorial:  how to level up your photos, thru vlog.  Since i don't own a dslr or mirrorless camera, i became interested.

They introduced: adobe lightroom.

Of course, i downloaded it and now trying to play around with it. This is what i have achieved based on my personal aesthetics. Thats the point of this post.

sailing on

@boracay

I started my day having coffee in the rain. Literrally, by the beach and by the sea. Tasting coffee with raindrops will always have that magical moment since no barista can create rain water.. lol, am i getting nuts?

I end my day hiking on this peak. The view from above  can only pinpoint the places that trigger some great memories.

This island was able to attain such supremacy in terms of peace and beauty (most of the time,  madness) and i hope local and tourists alike will not abuse it.

I never felt so overwhelmed for a long long time.
